Eotech 517 or Trijicon RX30?

Suppose you had the choice of only the Eotech 517 or the Trijicon RX30 for your home defense carbine, which would you choose and why?

I would go with the RX30, its on, it doesn't need adjustment, and there are no batteries to worry about being dead. That and the 8 MOA dot is easy to pick up.

IMHO EOtechs aren't the best option for home defense since chances are good that a home invasion will happen in the night, probably while you are sleeping. Who knows if you will remember to turn on the optic.

Better options are the RX30 or of course, an Aimpoint.
