View Full Version : Back In The AR15 Market
After seven years of not owning an AR. I have finally re-entered the brotherhood. It is a major improvement over the Franken DPMS Lower/BM Upper that I last owned. I took a bunch of pics but this is the only one that seems to be decent (I need to get some pointers from stick):

Major improvement indeed...Welcome BACK! I strayed away as well and got lost into the whole 308 Battle rifle crowd. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Very very nice indeed. The term "Nice Score" is an understatement. Excellent choice!
You certainly picked a nice gun for re-entry.
Damn nice rifle. Quick question though. Is the castle nut staked on that thing? It doesn't look like it to me but maybe the pic just isnt clear enough.

Funny you mention the 308. It's the reason I ended up with this weapon. I was recently exposed to the M110 and was impressed with the quality of the firearm. I called Knight's to find out if I could put some money down on an M110 and was told they were not offered for the civilian market. Still wanted a Knight's quality product and grabbed one of these (IWS). Also I am pretty excited about the LMT MRP 308 and that will probably become "my M110".

One of the reasons I spent so much for this rifle is that I do not feel comfortable enough with my AR15 knowlegde to put one together myself, so I am not a 100% on what you are asking. If you mean is it set to where the buffer tube cannot be removed, I would have to say that it looks as though it can be removed.
Thirdeye, Ed L., rharris2163, Fire_Medic, 556frags, Quib, Ak44, what rigs are you guys running?

I'm using a Eagle/SKD chest rig in Multicam. It can carry 4 M4 mags and 4 pistol mags attached to the M4 pouches, with room for some smaller Molle pouches on the side. It's two years+ old and I don't think its available anymore. The closes thing to it is this:
3 mag chest rig:

or The 4 mag rig:

Here's a "Chest Rig" thread to get some ideas: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=24843

You have excellent taste in weaponry.

wow! You went balls out on this one. Great choice.
Thirdeye, I'll be away from it for awhile, but next chance I have I'll look at it.
Thirdeye, I finaly checked it out and no it is not staked. Thanks for the pics to clarify it for me.

I think it remains one of SKD's best sellers...

Looks outstanding. I'm going to seriously consider getting one myself.
Phenomenal choice! I have an E3 and it's easily one of my favorites. A hell of a way to get back into market!
