Hi all,

I just ordered a Noveske N4, and got one of the blemished lowers with it. I've always been too chicken to try it, but this is my starting point. However, I already have 5.56 now, so I want to try something different. So I guess my first questions are:

1) Can I just use this standard lower with a 6.8 shooter? Do the magazines fit and lock in just like standard?

2) Who makes a good 6.8 upper? What about extended feed ramps in the upper, that sort of thing...

3) What magazines do you all use and where do you get them?

Excuse my blatant ignorance, but I don't know squat about larger caliber AR's. any advice appreciated. I tried some searching, but wasn't coming up aces...

The only components that are different between a 5.56 and a 6.8 are the barrel, bolt, and magazine. Everything else is interchangeable.

www.ar15performance.com makes a good 6.8 upper for a good price. Noveske is good also.

Here is a thread about mags.

Barrett, PRI, and C-products make 6.8 mags, C-products being the least expensive.
