Have been reading an enjoying this forum for a while. Finally got my first AR paid off, went with a complete Stag model 2 for my first one. Been looking for a 1x4 scope for awhile, went to Academy Sports an found the Bushnell Trophy 30 mm tube.
Will try to get to the range in a couple weeks, deliver semis (piggyback) so just passing through. Pics with a point & shoot didn't have time to get my 40D out.

Really like it. has the red dot plus German plex crosshairs. Best deal on a 1x4 mho.
real nice glass made in Korea

There are a few things to check on the Stag, but if you have been reading up on them, you probably already know the deal. It might be nice to show how your gas key and castle-nut staking look, as well as the M4 ramps in the upper.

The Bushnell 1-4 hasn't really been discussed on this forum and it will be interesting to hear how it performs. It seems to be a value oriented optic that will (hopefully) work well on a plinker or training gun, as with the Millet DMS, but at an even lower price-point.

Congrats on your AR. A STAG was my first AR as well. Still have it and have never had a problem with it throughout many training classes and range trips. Do take Failure2Stop's advice and have those parts checked out as well.

Nice rifle, I have had 2 Stags, one model 2 and a model 2T. I still have the 2T and nothing was wrong with the model 2, just sold it when I bought my Daniel Defence M4 because I could. They are fine rifles. Just check the staking on the carrier group, and castle nut. I have started seeing a few castle nuts come loose, one older Colt, a DPMS and a Bushmaster. They are very easy to stake yourself, no need to worry.

I would be interested in hearing about the scope. I bought a Trophy 3-9x40 in 1991 and still use that scope today on my 30-06 deer rifle. I have had several others on other rifles, but still like that particular scope better than anything else I have used. It is nothing special by any stretch, but the clarity and light transmission is hard to beat. Always holds zero for me too.
