This M9A1 sold on Gunbroker:

That's kind of a hefty price for a used Beretta M9A1, but these particular models seem to be nonexistent on dealers' shelves nowadays. Either Beretta is not producing them at the moment or all production is going to the military, or whatever.

I think the Colt World War I commemoratives kinda fall into the same category, from what I've seen locally anyway, but that's theoretically a limited production run.

What other handguns or variants thereof are people searching high and low for?

Good luck dude. That's a pretty ambitious effort.

Any DA Colt revolver, especially an older Python. Any original GI 1911; I'm not even that old, but I kick myself for passing up all of the $300 GI .45s I saw when I was a kid. I just thought they would be around forever, and really didn't have a use for one at the time. Whish I had one to pass down now.

HK 4 in .22LR
I found one on Friday at lunch, got home from work, and it was sold. I shed a tear.

Good luck dude. That's a pretty ambitious effort.

The hard ones will be the Model 10 (difficult), the K-32 (more difficult), and the Bisley (highly improbable). Although on the Bisley, I could always just buy a USFA reproduction. I'm not hung up on an original.

I think I'll have to add the Sig 210 to the list now that jtb0311 reminded me!

Nice list RAM!!! I've got the K-22 Target and K-38 Target for going on 40 years now, a 2" SS Model 64 marked "Detroit PD", a 4" M10 and a 6" pre-model 10, a Model 18 and a 629 4".

I wish I'd a hung on to both of my past M58's, 6" registered .357, the 6" M57, and both 4" and 6" M28's, M38, M36 square butt. :( OTOH, I don't especially miss the 4" M19, M66 or M686 or the 5" pre-model 10 or another 6" nickel pre-model 10 I sold to a friend that needed a simple HD gun. Every one of those 4" and longer Smith's were/are real tack drivers.

Many say the old N-frames are primo for acquiring and while expensive, less so than the new ones. The K-frames are my all around favorites though.

A Dan Wesson Valor is pretty difficult to find, I wish I could track one down.

NavDoc - great call on the 52! Add the S&W Model 41 to this list. I had the chance to shoot both extensively one year on the 90th ARCOMs pistol team and they are both stunningly fine pistols. Their reliability suprised me - especially the 52 feeding wadcutters.
