Defend-X LEO duty plates for Level 3?

First, I've tried to search and have gotten some great info, esp thanks to Doc!

I'm wanting to supplement my LEO vest with some Level III plates. I've been searching around online, trying to get up to speed with what's out there. Lot's of choices, price seems pretty important.

Anyway, I'm looking at getting the Defend X 4x7 inch plates for my vest (new Second Chance Level IIIa). they seem to be reasonably well priced, but is there something out there with similar results that cost about the same? I'm in plain clothes and don't want a big heavy vest, so I'm going to put these into my regular carrier.

v188--(for those that don't read LF, I'll repeat my answer from there): as always, ask yourself what threats you are trying to defeat. In addition, how concealable does the plate need to be; generally, when worn with standard soft CBA, a thin plate is preferred...
