1.) Has anyone tried or attempted to chrome the internal works of their upper receiver?

2.) How dramatically would it change the specs and operation of the bolt carrier?

3.) Would it be safe???

4.) Any recommendations?

PS: I bought a chrome bolt carrier and thinking about getting the internal upper done to reduce cleaning and increase reliability.

POF nickel/teflons (aka NP3s) the inner surface of the upper receivers and the charging handles, it's makes it very slick and easy to clean. On their piston guns you can also run it dry of oil. Not that I would but it will run very well with very little lube.

You can't apply chrome to aluminum. Electroless Nickel or similar coatings like NP3 are what you need to look into.
