My buddy Alaskacop here is a huge MSAR fan. I am a AR guy so I disliked the rifle at first. But its turning out to be a good shooter. He shot these groups himself today while sighting in with department issue 75 grain Tap 5.56 ammo.

Part of the reason I was out helping him is last week we went to a pistol rifle match in Fairbanks Alaska. He did well on the CQB stage but frankly he sucked on the longer range targets. This is very unlike my friend as he is a good shooter. So when we got back to town I went out with him and shot his rifle for a group at 100 yards to see what it was doing. I fired a group and I had a vertical string that was a foot long. That made me figure something was wrong with the rifle. I start checking the optic, the mount the rail etc. It turns out my friend installed a new rail and did not have it tightened all the way down. Tightening the rail made this rifle shoot as it should.

I also loaded him some 52 grain Sierra bullets with H335 powder to see if it liked lighter bullets better. It did.

I also loaded some 55 grain tap bullets.

Anyway to make a long story short I gave him crap about his gun but it turns out its a pretty good rifle.

His rifle is not shooting that much worse than my Noveske N4 build. Basically my gun is averaging about 1.25 moa for 5 shot groups and his is averaging about 1.6

Wow, nice results! I wonder if group size would shrink even further w/the new carbon fiber match hammer pack when it comes out.

I was making off hand one armed hits on a reduced C zone steel with a MSAR using an Aimpoint T-1 and run of the mill M193.

Accurate rifles.

With the majority of the weight in the rear of the weapon, it's not hard to keep it on target with your strong hand only, with the buttstock in the shoulder pocket.

I love my MSAR STG556. I use it as my current duty rifle. The rest of department uses the M4/AR platform and are pretty skeptical on my combat tupperware rifle.

It's nice to have a 20" barreled rifle on entries, especially when it is equal to a 16" AR. :)

Yes it does. Its a Nordic extension on the P Mag and it runs flawless. I have been running them all summer at the range and in competition. Its obviously a competition mag vs a tactical one due to the length but it works great on running and gunning stages. Here are some other high caps I use.

From right to left. 35 round russian mag. (works good) 48 round lancer competition mag, and 2 more Nordic P mag extenders (48 rounds).

Here is a CMMG 42 round mag.
