If you have the M4S, there is honestly no point in getting the M4M. It's longer and still isn't hearing safe at all.

Yes, that was at Pasadena Gun Center this weekend. I was down there for the Crawl for Cancer in Houston this past weekend. That range, while very ghetto, is awesome. They barely looked at my tax stamps (Which I just like, b/c it makes me feel like they still believe in the 2ndA), and it was 9 DOLLARS to shoot! If it was only $9 to shoot here at indoor ranges, I'd actually shoot at ranges more often instead of having to drive way out into the country.

You live around there?

I've got a setup similar to yours...11.5" with M4S

Thinking about getting an M4M eventually, don't know which will go full time if I do. But I'm really impressed with the suppression of the M4S.

BTW...was that video shot at Pasadena Shooting Center?? ;)

I love 6933s. I have 4 of them with LEO markings transfering to me right now, and I should have them in another month or so. Have fun with yours!!

All-Colt upper with SAW Mk18 barrel. The receiver is Noveske with mostly Colt parts (A2 grip, FCG, RE, H3 buffer) and small parts from a G&R kit.

http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz285/k_wilkin/DSC_2346_zps56894b89.jpg

I'm liking it with the multi-color. I'd loose some black and workin some greens.

(yes, I know the castle nut isn't staked, today was it's first test fire -120 for 120 - and it's getting a new receiver endplate as well as some other things - most of the accessories / furniture on it are leftovers from other builds, things I got in trade, or robbed from another rifle in the case of the Aimpoint)

It doesn't act like a brake. It acts like a kx3. It does the job of reducing blast when not running a suppressor.

it's an NEA (northeastern arms) ccs (compact carbine stock) and they have been shipping for about the last month or two. i'm building a 300 blk upper for it using a noveske 8.2" barrel. the 7" upper is just a placeholder until i can pick up the rest of the parts for the blackout upper. i believe troy is using these stocks on their trunk monkey guns.

I got that BCM 11.5" upper with 10" centurion in the EE. Well I paid for it but I don't think he shipped it yet. Kinda was wanting a 10.5" /9" like yours but I figured I'll be just as happy even with an added 1".

Based on the QD threads it has to be a YHM. I've got one in 30cal but I don't yet have my AK47 set up to act as host because I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about it. What's that flash device? It looks like it also attaches to the YHM QD threads.

Edit: Is that the brake shield?

Based on the QD threads it has to be a YHM. I've got one in 30cal but I don't yet have my AK47 set up to act as host because I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about it. What's that flash device? It looks like it also attaches to the YHM QD threads.

Correct, its a YHM.

Most important thing for YHM AK Q.D. Suppressor Mounts if for the Crown to be true. YHM AK Suppressor Mounts crush on the Crown, not a regular shoulder or against the FSB as some Muzzle Devices do.

The Cover is a Shield Mount, they are made by these people (Im NOT affiliated with them). They make them for AAC and YHM Mounts and in long (7.62) and short (5.56) versions

I've seen some guys doing it who say it's because the knob digs into them when they're carrying it. As long as they can still clear a malf, more power to em.

Comfort may not be noticeable in a 60 minute range trip, but 12+ hours of walking in full kit and you start to find out what works for you and what doesn't.

Ok so the list of major components and upgrades on this are:
Noveske SS barrel - 10.5"
BattleComp 1.0
Noveske NSR rail - 9"
Noveske/VLTOR MUR upper/Noveske Gen2 lower
Geissele SSA-E trigger
Noveske 60º safety selector
VLTOR A5 buffer extension and system
Leitner-Wise Manufacturing Fluid Sling Mount (AWESOME piece of kit)

The only thing not seen is the SureFire X300U I've added to the fore end of the top rail

My setup so far:
My DD mk18 upper
Colt 6920 lower
KAC flip up front taupe
KAC 300m rear flip up
Blk LMT SOPMOD stock (considering FDE but don't really need it)
Insight m3x in fde (LED version)
Insight dual pressure switch

Looking for a suppressor next but can't decide between the Surefire 556 SOCOM-RC or the KAC NT4 (Taupe). Both are currently in use by SOCOM so they are by all means durable but just can't decide which one is best for me. I am kind of leaning towards the KAC because it can be used with the DD flash hider but reading how Surefire passed the most rigorous suppressor test by the military in all of existence is making my eye wander from KAC. Any help guys who have both or have used both on a 10.3 gun? I've read that the KAC although db wise isn't quieter, it gives it deep lower sound which is more pleasing to the ear. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post!

P.S. Sorry for the crappy Iphone pics too.

Ok. I'll reiterate what I've already written. This was ordered as a complete SBR from Noveske. Like I already said. The other two I'm building are marked as stated earlier. I have a local guy here who did it. The lowers are all off for Cerakote waiting for the uppers to ship from Noveske to match everything up correctly.

The one you see here does not have that engraving. Because it was purchased directly from Noveske.

You're fine...I'm dealing with a tooth needing a root canal all weekend so I'm sure I seem short and impatient so apologies from me too. There are only a few parameters on how it has to be done. Hell you can find a punch set and do it yourself if you're confident you can do it. It's only a formality, you'll pay a premium for someone to program his engraver and and whatall, but there are a lot of options out there, just keep looking.

Probably a stupid question but don't the KAC rail covers have placed in a way that puts the locking clip on the far outside edge of the handguard (front or rear)? Looks like yours is in the middle. Just wondering how it stays put.

In addition to ends of the rail, there are several places in the middle of the rail where the covers lock into place.

Oh OK. On just that rail or all rails?

Probably a stupid question but don't the KAC rail covers have placed in a way that puts the locking clip on the far outside edge of the handguard (front or rear)? Looks like yours is in the middle. Just wondering how it stays put.

Another thing you can do with those rail covers is get a flat screwdriver and pull up on the metal locking band which will pop the tabs up into the rail slot itself. I used to do this on my issued M4 to keep rail panels more secure from sliding around or off, that is, until I decided to replace them with different panels.

The 416 IMHO is not that big of a deal. Sad to say I wasn't able to shoot it, but I like the feel of my mk18 clone better. And although the 416 is more reliable and parts life is longer, it's doesn't seem better than a mk18 by function. And should anything break on the upper, finding replacement parts seemed difficult. So I decided on a 10" DI gun which has parts interchangeability with various manufactures. But what do I know?!:p

Details please? Thanks!

It's a Ruger 10/22 with an AGP arms take down barrel system on it. Because it's a takedown I wanted it to pack away really small but I didn't really like the AGP folding stock so I customized my own stock for it. I modified a Knoxx Axiom Rimfire stock, by cutting a notch out of the back and adding a folding mechanism, carbine buffer tube and Magpul MOE buttstock. I shortened the forend, and integrated a modified HK G3 bipod.

The gun is set up with two barrels (5" and 16") and two optics (red dot and compact 4X) so I can switch between barrel and optics pairs for close range or precision and I’m always zeroed.

Here's a pic of all the parts
http://i47.tinypic.com/14kdvux.jpg

Everything fits into the bottom of a small tool box with room for the tote tray on top to hide what's beneath, or to use for extra ammo and mags.

I took this this evening as I was unloading my SWAT gear. My Remington 870 with my PWS upper on my Aeroprecision SBR'd Lower. I love this AR! My Remington 870 will be going on a diet shortly as I will have it cut back to a 10" barrel.

I will try to get better photos of my rifle shortly.

The front sight was actually a black one, but since the FDE fronts are impossible to find I fixed it.

This one will get a forward grip and a light when the keymod stuff comes in.

Thinking about painting this one. I like the rail for function, but I'm not sure about the look. I go more for function so it will get to stay ;)

I've put the pdq lever on this one and one other and I really like them.

Wow that is light, just looked up the specs.

How does it feel in hand when gripping around it?

And how do you feel about the barrel nut mounting solution? Solid?

So far I don't like the feel as much as I like a Troy Alpha. I think that's mostly just preference though. I really like how it fits with the can and the feel is plenty good for me to use. It does have the 'rounded' feel that I like, just a little bigger.

Bbl nut (and overall) it feels sturdy and it went together well. They send a few shims with it but I didn't need them. The tube locks to the nut really well. Seems like it will do well. Ill post up if it fails me in any way.

I did have to work it a little with a file (just by hand) but that wasn't a fault of the unit. It was just to make it work with that W.A.R. upper.

Ran about a case through this one today. Very pleased with this build.

The W.A.R. upper is amazing and is well worth the cost.

The PDQ really works well for mag swaps and malfunction drills.

As it sits it's right at 8lbs. It's balanced well and handles well.

Lots of fun.

Completely agree. It stays put better than any belt I've tried - and I had the Brokos for a while. They're both very comfortable, but the Brokos rode up, especially when bending at the waist. The Suregrip is aptly named - it stays put.

My LMT MK18 MOD0 clone is my favorite AR by a long shot. I finally got a Comp M2 for it, but right now it's in an ARMS (gag) mount. Need to pick up a Wilcox for it soon.

I agree with you there. I have a SF600C on mine and really have no desire to go to a SF95X series. A Malkoff drop-in would make that light more appealing, but man they add some bad weight to the rifle.

I was in the process of doing this in Nov - Dec last year. Sold my CMMG 10.3 Upper pre-madness and Intended to get a Noveske SB 10.5" upper, but those proved to be rare as hens teeth. Didn't want to leave it without, so I pressed forward with a build to have something on it.

My SCARs are my go to rifles / SBRs, so this is basic for now.

VLTOR MUR-1 Upper
Noveske Stainless 10.5" barrel (wanted chrome lined, but alas they couldn't be found. As this won't be a high round rifle, its fine)
BCM BCG / VLTOR CH
Troy Battlerail (not my favorite, but it does fine)
AAC 51T Blackout
Magpul stuff

Lower already had a SSA in it as well.

Both the light and the mount are locked down nice and secure, but at a glance, it looks like the width of the bezel would prevent you from mounting it backwards. For your application, I'd go with the LaRue non-offset.

Sorry guy. Both the light and the mount are locked down nice and secure, but at a glance, it looks like the width of the bezel would prevent you from mounting it backwards. For your application, I'd go with the LaRue non-offset.

Well, I've only got the one Elcan, and I like it much better on my SOPMOD Block II clone. I love the look of the EXPS (SU-231a) on the CQBR.

Do you prefer to shoot more than the other? I am just curious because I have my elcan on the way for my CQBR clone, and I have a SU-231 that I have laying around now and don't want it to go to waste. I am considering either building a mod 0 clone upper or a complete m4 block 2 rifle with a SF 3P FH pinned to bypass NFA.

There's just something about a shorty... ;)

Now that works. Looks good and it makes me want to go to my LGS and see if the stamp came in yet. :D

That looks so fun!

I bet that would be a blast to shoot for S&G. Mind if I ask who makes the "stock"?
