I have a topo map and have already marked travel paths and bearings, if I could find a source for printing satellite photos it would greatly help. Anyone know of sources?

Google Maps? Or for a more robust solution, use Google Earth. The main drawback is that in some areas the satellite photos can be somewhat dated.

If you're looking for localised stuff, the best source is your County's GIS mapping website.

How would I find this? What kind of search would I need to do?

http://www.tngis.org/data.html - scroll down to the Digital Orthophoto Quadrangle (DOQ) section and search by County.
