We did! And several M4C members were in attendance and shot very well!

We did kneeling for the first couple of hours, and then transition to handgun at the end. The overall skill level of our shooters is REALLY coming up, and as the one running the drills it's really satisfying to see folks improve in such short time frames.

Guys, if you have a chance to take part in one of these M4C training groups please do, i think you will be pleasantly surprised. This forum has a much greater collection of knowledge and no BS shooters than most other sites.

I had the pleasure of attending last night and i had a really good time. It was my first time meeting Rob_S and i was impressed. The guy first off, is very competent with his weapon systems and secondly, the analytical and pragmatic approach he takes to instructing and shooting meshed very well with my own ideologies. I was impressed and am looking forward to doing more shooting under him.

Rob, you're doing a good thing out there, please keep it up.

To anyone else thats hiked up their shorts and is sharing their knowledge in these groups, awesome, keep on trucking.

PS, im normally very hesitant to shoot with people that i dont know. I will say however that TSSA and Rob_S run a TIGHT ship, i had no worries or issues with safety last night, very cool. I hope the rest of these clubs are as safe as ours down here in Florida.

Thanks Magsz! Glad you enjoyed it, and glad you got something out of it. Probably the biggest constant since I've been with TSSA has been safety, and we're always looking for ways to improve without being over-bearing, and are always appreciative of guys like yourself that are tuned in. I think a lot of people are surprised to find that we'll have 40+ people on the rang on a night like last night and be able to run the whole thing safely.

SE Florida Drills, this coming Tuesday 1 September 2009 at Markham Park! Our club (http://tssaidpa.us/wordpress/) does both carbine and handgun, and on the carbine side we're going to be working multiple-target drills, stationary and on the move as well as with target ID thrown into the mix as well.

We had an excellent 3 hour carbine drills night with TSSA (www.tssaidpa.us) this past Tuesday. We started with "this is the safety", progressed to "push/pull" and reloads (both admin and emergency) and were engaging multiple targets with NSRs by the end of the night.

Next month we'll build on this and get into trigger control and stance, using all the same basics we covered this month, and catching up any new shooters that missed us this time.

I thoroughly enjoy running these carbine drills, and learn a lot about myself and my own shooting and gear every time we do them, even if I never fire a shot.

I'm kind of dismayed to see how little traffic this thread gets (and how few in my A/O take us up on our drills nights). On a forum where we talk so much about "hard use" and "fit and finish don't matter" I really would have thought that we would see more people hooking up, either casually or formally, to get more training in.

I attended Robs drills night this past Tuesday and had a blast as always.

It was a very fast paced beginners tutorial on how to operate the AR15 from step 1.

Even for some of the more experienced shooters it was a good brushup on basic skills that always need to be refreshed. The fundamentals are key but must be maintained.

Get on out there and train guys, you wont regret it!
