Colorado NFA - ATF or Trust

Any experts out there in CO that can tell me how to go about setting up a trust for NFA stuff? Or is it better to just go the ATF route?

I think you mean the personal route. It all goes through the ATF.

I am not in CO but I think it would depend on how your local LEO feel about the issue. If they would easily sign the papers I would probably go the personal route.

I would also probably do things like MG personal but would probably be more willing to go the trust for SBR and suppressors.

My thinking is that if the ATF ever decides the trusts no longer qualify as an entity able to possess NFA items, I don't want an expensive machine gun to suddenly be NFA contraband. Suppressors and SBRs, which are not as expensive, are less of a loss if that decision ever comes forth.
