Does anyone know what are the holes in front of the VIS-3 receiver for?

It looks like the rails are cut around the holes too... Strange.

I haven't the foggiest, but I'm sure someone here knows.

The size of the cutouts around the inner two appear to be holes to attach a sling mount. I'm not sure about the forward most hole.

I believe it's for M203 mount.

mute's got it right. directions come listed for one's unit armorer to install an M203.
