Is there any danger to using a barrel with M4 feed ramps with a receiver that doesn't have ramps?

Not really, but it's less than ideal. As long as you don't have a receiver with M4 cuts and a barrel extension without then you should be fine.

Not recommended. It's more trouble than it's worth and I would just opt for the correct upper receiver.
