I'm still working up to have the balls to paint a carbine although I have a plan brewing. Some people make it look easy. Mine would look like a Picasso.

In any event, baby steps. This is the first non-black carbine I have ever done although you can see it wasn't exactly tough to do. Everything is bolt on. New Magpul MIAD and CTR. Ladder panels. Smokin' new EoTech 553 and yes, the dreaded BetaMag.

This is a Vltor VIS monolithic upper. They simply do any amazing job with the machine work. Incredibly rigid and really gives you the freedom to place your optic exactly where you want it. On mine, you can see where it would be bridging the gap between a rail and upper on a non-mono.

The Colt SOCOM HB is very accurate and is probably all anyone would ever need in a carbine. I just changed the BCG to an M16. The combo of the standard FSB and a LT BUIS is as rock solid as you are going to find.

The lower is a preban PWA with a Stag LPK. I need preban lowers to make all of the evil features legal.

I use HK mags but there was a tan, clear backed Beta available so I got it for the range. I know he horror stories and even some of mine have gone TU on occasion. Good for the range though. I would only use my HKs for peak reliability.

The Gemtech M4-96QD can attaches on the G5 type lugged flash hider. Much spiffier than the originals and retro fits my older can.

I was feeling artsy today to I threw in a couple of shots of my new Strider and my Colt 1911 Tactical. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing the pics, very nice setup. I know this is a rifle site, but would you mind sharing some details about your 1911? I'm toying with the idea of building another one, and that looks very close to the kind of configuration I've been considering. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

The knife is one of 5 I was told done by Strider. Two were the longer Mk 1As like mine and three were regular Mk 1s. Strider kept the three and the other two got out at SHOT. This one appeared on a dealer's website. The other one had been found and purchased by someone else.

The MC is a water transfer process done by Dynamic Finishes. They can do entire weapons. I hear their waiting list is growing rapidly.

That sucks, guess I better get stepping with my project then.
