Today I wanted to get my optics better sighted in. I'll do this again next range trip but for today I was pleased at where I have them. I made targets that are a .75" dot with a line that is 1.5" low fron center of dot. Object was to get them both shooting close to 1.5" low at 25m / 82 feet.

The ACOG needed a little shading of the fiber optics to minimise "blooming"

I have a hard time for some reason centering the ACOG but I got it alot lower than the first set of groups.

Lower left groou is my last group with the Aimpoint. Pretty damn good grouping and a tad low but good enough for today :)

I'll dial em in better next range session :)

What ammo were you shooting? Looks like Remington UMC...

Looks like a great day to me. I think I already know, but educate me so I am sure. What is the issue with blooming while using the Acog.

Most of what I was shooting was remington and pmc. Not the best in the world but its what I need to get rid of. The pmc isn't to bad actually.

Light entering the fiber optic tube illuminates the reticle. More light equals brighter reticle.

If I am understanding him correctly he is referring to the sights getting too much light to light the chevron. With the lighting too intense during a bright sunny day the reticle can become more or less overpowered and appear to "bloom." Like I said, that is if I am understanding the OP correctly.

While in the Corps. to remedy this we used black electrical tape placed down the tritium tube. As the day progressed and the sun lowered we'd just roll an edge of the tape down to slowly allow more of the available light to the tube.
