National Ammo Day is coming up in a few days, November 19th, who will be participating and who will not? If you decide not to what are your reasons for not participating? Do you think this is productive or a waste of time? Any other comments relating to this topic are welcome, either positive or negative, as long as they're conducive to this thread.

November 19 is National Ammo Day.

It is a nationwide BUYcott of ammunition. You buy ammunition. 100 Rounds a person.

The goals of Ammo Day:

The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Make your support of the Second Amendment known--by voting with your dollars!

There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America. If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that’s 7.5 BILLION rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens!

The gun/ammunition manufacturers have been taking the brunt of all the frivolous lawsuits, trying to put these folks out of business. Well, not if we can help it! And we CAN help it by buying ammunition on November 19!

I for one will be participating! :)

I don't need to wait for a special day to buy ammo, and I sure as hell don't need to see another round of skyrocketing ammo prices just because shelves are bare....

I won't be buying any on the 19th, but that weekend there is a truckload sale at the local den and I'll buy my max of some calibers.

I don't get that either. I thought folks on this forum did a pretty good job at getting and expending ammo on a regular basis. All that would do is increase ammo prices in the short run, by creating a perceived high demand, and create a shortage, if done all at once, same as the Obama Effect.

National Ammo Day, in the current environment, seems like a solution in search of a problem.

For the past year, any ammunition manufacturer who has been flirting with going out of business probably deserves to go out of business.
