Eagle Escape and Evade Pack Large

Has anyone used one of these packs? I am thinking about picking one up as a BOB for my truck but was hoping for feedback from an end user first.

I have sourced one of these used online for a steal and I like that there are very few straps or pouches on the outside to hang up on stuff. I already have a general BOB that meets most of my needs but I was thinking more specifically of a survival type grab and go pack to keep in my SUV for hunting and off roading and such. Envisioning more of a "find me" bag that I could keep a few MRE's in along with basic fire stuff, a popflare or two, some extra chemlights, fleece beenie and gloves, couple of liters of sealed water, maybe a Glock 17 or S&W .357 revolver, a water filter pump, maybe a small shelter of some sort, some basic trauma stuff, and an AN/PRC-149 (basically a PLB with AM voice capability). So this would be grabed if needed in addition to my regular BOB whch is for more urban environment, short hike type stuff, and would give you those extra things you need to hike out say 15-25 miles in rough terrain, or survive getting stranded in a blizzard, those kind of things.

Biggest complaint I heard about them is the lack of protection for the zipper. But, if rain, dirt, or mud is not a problem, it is not too bad. It will not be as comfortable as the more ergonomic shaped packs.

Its a COSPAS/SARSAT compatible PLB with AM voice on 121.5 mhz works well for a number of civy purposes.

121.5 is the civilian "guard" frequency just like 243.0 is the military emergency frequency and the 149 covers both and does the COSPAS/SARSAT GPS signal on 406 with homing beacons on all three, all civilian aviation is supposed to monitor 121.5 at all times. It provides you with voice comms to any aviation resources participating in a SAR effort (CAP, National Guard, Civilian, etc.) no matter what their FM radio capabilities are, its what I have right now, all my other comms are agency owned 800 stuff that isnt ideal for finding help to say Moab or anything like that.
