It'll work just fine and actually a little smoother with softer recoil with the rifle buffer and spring.

Ok, I know how to do this, mechanically, e.g. taking the carbine stock off the buffer tube and removing the tube, buffer, spring, etc. from the receiver.

However, what I need to know is what else I have to do to ensure correct function since I would be swapping out the carbine spring and buffer for a rifle length spring and a rifle buffer. In other words, will my S&W MP15 with a carbine length gas tube function with a rifle buffer/spring?

Thanks and regards,
D Hall

Thanks gotm4, guess I should have picked up the Magpul PRS when I was at your VA Arms Co. yesterday.

I think the board is a bit buggy right now.

Take a look at the Vltor rifle modstock. It will slide over a M4 or rifle tube and comes in A1 and A2 lengths.

Anyone have a weight on these? Are they lighter or heavier than a standard A1/A2 stock?

I was wondering about that...

Thanks for clearing that up Stick! Seems like this happened last night to GotM4 in a thread too.

Well, went with the PRS. I picked up a milspec receiver tube, spring and rifle buffer at the Chantilly Gun show. Took all of 5 mins to pull the old stock and replace. Now I just need to mount a scope and take it to the range.

As stated before. Your GTG. I did the same thing. Installed a PRS on my S&W VTAC. Runs very smooth!

It should run good with the can as well, should be cleared any day now.

Post some pics of your rig:cool:

Ok, here are some photo's. It still has the red dot on it, but will replace with a 1-4x or a straight 4x and see how well it does.
