We are organizing a Central Florida Defensive Carbine Club (CFDCC). We have a range and we have targets. Now we need shooters.

I'm posting this message to gauge interest and to help plan for the first shoot.

If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, if you have an AR-15 style rifle, and if you would like to use your rifle it in a fun and safe competitive envionrment, please let me know that you're interested.

We plan on setting up practical and fun courses of fire and we hope to have our first shoot soon.

Please email me at cfdcc556@gmail.com and we wil

Hey CM,

What part of the Orlando area?

I'm in Tampa and this area's problem is finding a public range that will allow this type of training. I'd be interested in joining in.

We will be holding it at the Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club (http://www.volusiacountygunandhuntclub.com/).

Membership costs are very reasonable and the owner is very accommodating. It hasn't been around for long but the owner has a great vision for what the range could be and he's been carrying it out.

I'm trying to avoid gushing so I'll finish by saying that if you are in the Central Florida area, you should check it out.

your closest bet might be Hernando Sportsmans, but unless you live in New Port Richey, Lutz or Land O Lakes, it can be a haul for most.

CM, be sure to post this on ar15.com and floridashootersnetwork.com if you haven't already. The original FDCC members are all very active in the Florida Hometown forum on arf.

Also, if you can put together an announcement with the link you put above to the range etc. I'll send it out to my members to see if they can forward to anyone they know in that part of the state.

Well, it appears that the folks who attended our first shoot really enjoyed it. So, we're having a second shoot, which is now scheduled for Sunday, January 24th 2010. It's going to be in the morning and we'll update this thread with the exact time once we nail it down.

CM, Randy Cain had a carbine instructor development course the weekend of your last match, which is why I couldn't attend.

Ya -- every 3rd Sunday.

This is kind of an old thread and we're well past gauging interest. February 21st will be our third shoot and we've had about 40 shooters at our previous matches.

Right now, TOS is kind of the hub of communication for it but I'd prefer if it we could get a good thread going here.
