Ok I had my form's dropped off the 24TH of Feb and I called the WV branch to inquire if they had been received.
There response No sir what havent received your packet :eek:
It was mailed out priority/certified .
Family memeber who mailed it didnt happen to keep the receipt and the only reason I didnt do it myself is Im responsible for opening and closing the part's dept mon thru sat .
Im #$@%ed arent I ?
So now what do I do wait a while (1-2 month) and see what happen's .

This is the problem. As I understand it, all mail, other than regular first class stamped packets, must go to a different sorting/staging area. For proper logging. They will get there, with a nice delay, just fine.
Send your forms in plain envelopes using regular first class stamps addressed to the proper place.
Also, what type of form??
Form 4's go to:
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
National Firearms Act Branch
P.O. Box 530298
Atlanta, GA 30353-0298
Form 1's and all other correspondence goes to:
National Firearms Act Branch
244 Needy Road
Martinsburg, West Virginia 25405
It's a form 1 I sent out .
And it was sent to the WV branch of course . 9 day's and counting (arrrrggggh)

From my experiences thus far, they'll actually 'see' it in about 4-5 more days!

I mentioned the end of june because Im gonna give the company's other location a try for 3 month's starting 4/1 and if I it doesnt work Im going to plan B !
Remember there are also only three responses to status of the transfer:
1) Not in the system.
2) Pending.
3) Approved.
I've checked on F4's before and it wasn't "in the system" the week before when I called, but now the dealer has the F4 in his hands 7 days later. :eek:
Odd place, but sending it certified or priority only complicates issues.

I'm to the point now, that I don't even think about it until at least 30 days from the day I mailed it. :cool:
Around day 45, if I haven't heard anything from the dealer, or gotten the F1 back, I call and see if it's pending.
Your best indicator will be your online banking access. Look at when the check clears. Wait 30 days, then call. ;)

Trust form 4 SBR transfer
1/24/2007 SBR (complete rifle) purchased from dealer / dealer sends out form 3
2/07/2007 form 3 approved
2/13/2007 SBR shipped
2/15/2007 SBR arrived at class III dealer / form 4 sent
2/20/2007 check to BATFE cashed
Called several times and it's not pending yet.

HUGE mistake... had an older form with the DC address on it, not W. Va. Gonna be waiting awhile now... sent mine out on Feb 10th or so and the check hasn't even cleared. Oh well, learn from my mistakes...

Now I trying to decide what to do for my next nfa project to keep me busy.
What the heck? What do you guys mean regular first class mail?
I folded my pages up and put them in a business letter sized envelope and put that in a priority cardboard envelope at the post office.
I also got the green delivery confirmation card and it was back in my hands in two days or so.
I mailed it on the 1st of March, a F1 to WV.
Should I call or just wait 'til next week when I planned on it coming back?

I personally know Steve (kbi) he's a customer of mine who I'm pretty sure is 'suppressorless'. ;)
but you aren't guessing he is buying a suppressor because he filled out a F1. Try as you may, I'm still lost!
****ing ATF. I just got my Form1 back from William Shipman with a letterhead stating "this particular Form 1 cannot be used. The ATF Signature block must appear on the front of the Form. I have enclosed a new set of Form 1's for your use."
WTF is that? I downloaded the damn form as a PDF and printed it as per instructions, just like my last Form 4 was done.
Then the letter states
"Your 30 or 90 day processing date does not begin until we have received a perfect (complete) application(s). Please make the appropriate corrections and return with Error Letter to NFA Branch, 244 Needy Road Martinsburg WV, 25405."
Damn this pisses me off...
If you have the correct form, disregard, but you can have them mail you a hard copy form:

I have a form 1 I got using this method and the ATF signature is at the bottom of the front page. It only took a couple of days to get my forms, postage paid.
I've got 4 or 6 now but the problem is I waited my time and now they say I have the wrong form even though they've approved the old Forms for other people as recently as Tuesday (or Monday?) There's another thread here where the guy announces he was approved and received his form early this week. Same old form.
I will be calling tomorrow to find out the problem- not the problem with the sig lines but why mine didn't suffice- the ones I downloaded from their site and sent in 2 days later.
Guess which form the ATF still has up for downloading? **** an "A" right- it's the "non valid" form.

Make sure you use the Form 1 that they should have inclcuded in the error letter. Which require that not only do you need to submit a Form 1 that is not only front and back, that has the signature block at the bottom of the front page.
Be patient, you really can't rush this since it is out of your hands once you re-send the paperwork.

Shipman sent me 4 new Form1s. Two with a control number on them.
I filled one out and sent it back. He told me just to send everything back that I received and it would go through pretty fast.

I was sooooooooo tempted to put "picking up babes at the range" for reason this time around but didn't want to change anything between old and new form.
I think next time it will be something funny.

The 1st attemp at filling out the form I screwed up really good
The 2nd was just like the 1st
By the third form I didnt care about being neat and after gotm4 looked it over and siad it was gtg and I just sent it in .
For reason I just put what other's had done on their form and worked. Beside I dont think (reason) for zombies is acceptable
I didn't say zombies...
Mine was finally approved and returned.
I have NOTHING on the backside of mine though. So much for printing out the copy front and back.
