i built a lower yesterday to go with a tac sol .22 upper using a RRA 2-stage trigger. i noticed when i pull the trigger and hold it back, the trigger doesnt reset when i cycle the bolt. to get it to reset you have to let go of the trigger before you cycle it.

ive seen a few people on here using this same upper/trigger combo, so it should work unless i did something wrong or need to tune something a little.

i just put a 556 upper on the lower and it works fine. it also resets properly when i have just the lower and push the hammer down with my thumb...i dont feel any binding or anything.

it must just have something to do with the .22 bolt. maybe i cant pull it back far enough with the charging handle..but a live round will?

ill take another look at it later today, but its hard for me to tell whats going on as it only does it with the lower connected to the upper.

anyone with this same upper and trigger mind letting me know if yours does this also? thanks

Haven't seen what the RRA 2-stage hammer looks like, however, if it is notched, do not try to fire a live .22 round in your TacSol upper - you'll need an unnotched hammer for it to cycle.

See details here: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=34411

thanks. it looks like this. note that these are the newer versions (which people claim to work with the tac sol upper)

this is the older version, that i think does NOT work with tac sol bolt

well i got out to the range today.

the lower with the 2 stage trigger didnt work. id did exactly what it does when i rack the bolt. fires the chambered round but then doesnt reset until i cycle it again.

but i brought my other lower in anticipation of that and it worked perfectly. put about 500 rounds through it without a single anything. awesome. now if i could just get it to work with the two stage trigger.

Have you given the TacSol folks a call? They probably have had a similar question thrown their way by someone else with the same 2-stage hammer.

Good luck - those uppers are a lot of fun to shoot!
