I dont normally get personal but I had to mention the two events that occurred today.
1) Grandfathers 1911 passed down to me

2)Found out im going to be a Dad!! Been trying for awhile, so im stoked.

My little girl has been more of a blessing than any gun I own.. Congrats on the new addition.

I have my grandfather's 1911 and will always cherish it.

Receiving a grandfather's firearm can be an emotional thing because it means you lost an important person in your life (at least it did to me).
Cherish the 1911 but, if you are like me, you will understand you have been merely entrusted with it to pass on to your children.

congrats! I girl is turning 2 next week. and ironicly, when i found out i was having a girl i went and bought a 1911.

Sounds like a good day.

Start a new chapter in that 1911's history: Wear it in the delivery room for your child's birth, and one day pass it on to him/her.
