Hey Guys,

I'll be working in AZ for the month of January and will be bringing my toys. Are there AR friendly gun shops around for ammo, accessories, etc.?

Thanks,

Mark

SCOTTSDALE GUN CLUB

I live in CA so we have nothing like this place, so when I went to Phoenix I visited and that place is awesome. Tons of rifles on the walls, tons of ammo, tons of accessories, tons of magazines...Everything!

In Tucson:

Diamondback Police Supply is ok, but their main focus isn't really for the AR platform. They have a lot of ammo, handguns, and rifles, but last I went there, they weren't really an AR specialty store. They have a few rails, LPKs, optics etc.. but not many.

Black Weapons Armory in Tucson has a lot more AR specific items and tactical accessories. This is where I go to get things locally if I don't feel like placing an order online. They have a website too.

In Phoenix:

The only place I've been to is Scottsdale Gun Club. It is the nicest gun store I've been to. They sell ALL things including full-auto ARs and NFA items. As it is located in Scottsdale, don't expect the most affordable prices, but they have a FULL selection of most types of things you might need/want for your AR. I purchased my DDM4 from them for a great price when they were having a fire sale on them about 5 months ago.

Thanks, guys. Hopefully I can make it down to Tucson this week.

Also found a range down in Casa Grande, "free" but I had to put together a make-shift target stand out of two pallets and cardboard. It's nice being in a free state!

IG,

Good to go! Actually still here, but pretty busy this week, and going back to San Diego for the weekend. I'm back for the remainder of the month. Depending on my schedule I may venture up into PHX/Scottsdale area and check out SGC. I'll shoot you a PM when I figure it out.

Thanks,

Shark

The free range in Casa Grande, if it's the one I think you're referring to, is right next to the LE range (exit I-8 Trekell Rd, go south). This was the range that EAG Tactical held a Pistol 2 course.

I've scanned most of the stores in the valley (USAuto, Scottsdale Gun Club, Pistol Parlour, Bear Arms, ATF (now closed)) and nobody carries any LPKs besides DPMS like this (http://alxblog.net/). Anyone know where they carry anything besides DPMS?

I just wrapped up a build and went through the same dilemma. I ended up ordering one online since I couldn't find anything local. I'm in the East Valley and didn't check out much on the west end of town. You might have luck there, but all I found was DPMS.

It was when I was there in June, seems they owed money to someone in the ballpark of 60K. Word from my friend down in that area is that it has re-opened though

Bumping back up with a new question, anyone have a source of usgi magazines in the Phoenix area? I'd rather not pay $18 bucks a pop like I've seen in some places, like to keep it in the $10-$12 range if that's even possible right now

Bravo Company has USGI mags from D&H for $10 each, or $11 with Magpul followers.

If I were you I would look online. I have seen mags being sold and some places were offering free shipping.

I'll add that PMC cases are only $319 for .223 but I doubt that'll last long
