Well I was in south east Texas Deer hunting all this last week. I was scheduled to fly home to NOVA on Friday 4 dec but due to the Dam snow in Houston yesterday I had 2 flights CLX and was able to get rerouted to ord then to iad, got home about 0300.
Well I woke up this am well close to noon and it was SNOWING here Looks close to 3" on the truck.

As for the rest of the trip it was great got a nice 9 piont and saw some old friends and family.
I Just moved up to NOVA in Sept and don't even have a snow shovel yet.......
Well Rant off............Just planning on cooking a roast and kicking back and catching up on rest.........:D

NoVa? Oh dear, you better stock up on TP and bottled water 6 months in advance of someone mentioning snow or else the grocery shelves will be cleared out. I'd also generally avoid the roadways as all the SUV's running around at 90mph in 2wd mode on bald tires will be crashing into you. :D

How did you get the meat back? On the plane or shipped?

I really miss the snow.

This is my first winter away from the snow - I'm in shorts and a tshirt with the windows open. I haven't had to rake leaves or shovel snow or wait 20 minutes for the heater to warm up while my hands barely wrap around the steering wheel. :D

Grew up here - lived here for over 30 years. This area of NOVA attracts lots of folks due to DC, which means a lot from the non-snow driving states as well. Heck a snow flake and the beltway shuts down. The climate would attract palm trees if we didnt have our cold spells, and decent amounts of snow are rare enough, hence no serious investment of snow removal.

Welcome!

Ive had my fill of this snow today here in NOVA.

#1 Already been chased & had to chase a big wet dog around (a#@hole)

#2 Moved my truck off the street because people around here forget how to drive.

I like it warm period!

Didn't have my GPS but best guess via Google Earth is in the vicinity of:

37 6' 28''n

81 12' 4''W

You can perch on that spot in GE and the Moutain shots match.

We're about ready to get hit with a foot of "heavy" snow with blizzard like conditions on Tuesday and into Wednesday. I'll take pics for you.

Here in Richmond, we got about 10".

Well I am about 7 miles west of Dulleas airport on rt 50. Ant my house we had close to 28" and had a Dam drift in the driveway almost 4 feet.......I HATE this crap......I spent 2 hrs digging it out and then got another 5" on it after I cleared it off.
(Rant on)
Oh yea I almost bagged me a Snow Plow driver, I had got the drive all shoveled out and then he comes by and piles a 4' high bearm up in front of my drive.
I went out and asked him nice if he could angel his blade to the center of the ally and move it for me he just told me suck it up. I swear I was mad dam mad.............If this would of been down in Texas...........(rant off)

It is crazy - 24" - had to make dog path just for normal animal operating procedures.

Was actually on top of it and both vehicles are 4wd and ready to go - nowhere! Its Sunday so other than dogs/kids - its watching football. Too bad the Todd's Pistol Training class was axed - would of had an excuse yesterday.

Stafford, VA Around noon yesterday, and we got at least another 6+ on top of that.

I was in Albany, GA this week, and drove up from the Richmond airport Friday night. A 1hr drive that took 4hrs.

Snow was too high for ninja-dog to move easily, much less flatten me, which didn't keep him from trying to tear around. The look of frustration on his face was comical.

I spent 3 hours today digging out. People act like the end is coming. My G/F just came back from the store and all of the eggs, milk, and TP are GONE! It's not like we had any warning that winter was coming.

I don't mind snow...as long as I don't have to go out in it, like say, to work or to school. I'd be perfectly content to sit home next to the fireplace, field stripping my AR, waiting...just waiting for this global ****ING WARMING I've been hearing about for the past decade or so! So, yeah, I don't mind snow.

Say, anybody want to watch a movie with me? How 'bout 'The Shining' or 'Misery' perhaps?!

I tried to drive to the local Lowe's for some more Ice Melt and it didn't make it 10-feet before it got stuck!! :(

I'm getting cabin fever bad. It wouldn't be so bad if the damned squirrels would come out and gave me a target... err... play.

Good for you, but can't imagine Christmas without the chance of snow at least. But that's what a lifetime in the Northeast will do to one, I suppose.

Meant to add that I am beyond sore after digging not just myself, but 3 neighbors out of our 2 ft of snow as well. Never really felt my 40 years as much as I did this weekend, but then again I did about 5 times what anyone else did around me. So many seniors to help here, but so be it.

Some of us like real Seasons(see previous page). I will keep an occasional overly-agressive snowfall and you can keep the Wildfires, Mud Slides and Earthquakes, Mountain Lions, Grizzlys and the Governator.

The worst Earthquake in my life was a Three and we haven't had a bad fire season since 91.

The grass is always greener.

BTW: Nice Sweater.
