I'm thinking on changing to Heinie's.
Any troops have problems with the front sight height?
I have just a Gen 2, G19, stock. Cheers

I have a pair of Straight Eights on one of my G17s and I really like them and highly recommend them.

Slightly off topic: I would like to see pictures of your Gen I G19 though!

multiple gen 3's, no problem with the stock height. Impact at 20 yds is approximately 1 inch high with BH 124 GD+P. He sells an alternate front sight, should you have a problem.

I have to run the tall front sight post on mine but I love em.

I have 0.215 Heinie front on my G19, and even then it shoots a tiny bit high.

Not to hijack this but did you guys send your slides off to get the sights installed? Anyone do it themselves? Just curious. I'm hoping to get a set for one of my G19s sometime after the first of the year.

JW_777 and myself did mine with a Glock Rear Sight pusher.

I had "regular" Straight 8's installed on my Gen II G19 and have had no problems regarding the front sight height. Obviously others have had different experiences.

I sent my slide to Heinie and had it back in just over a week.

Gratuitous pic. :)

I have had Heinie Sights on all of my Glocks 23, 19, 30, and I just had them put on my 35. Great sights.

Anyone running the "wider" notch?
I just ordered some for my G19 & HK USP 45

They are my favorite sights. My rear sights blur, due to my vision, so in quick shots I do not even notice the dot, just the notch. In precision shooting, they line up nice.

I've been looking at the "wider" notch too. In the past few years I've noticed my sights have become a lot harder to see and hoped the wider notch might help. I'd be interested to hear how you like them.

Big fan of the straight 8's also. Mine shot POA/POI w/ winchester WB on my G19 but was a little high w/ my Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +P, perhaps a built in "flinch factor" lol, but seriously very good sights. Warren Sevigny's are also terrific.

I'm not the original poster but I have an early G19, not sure if it's Gen 1 or 2, but it's so old that Heinie hadn't even made the Slant Pro yet, that's the old school "back slant" sight. It requires the taller front sight to shoot to the proper point of aim.

I just ordered some for my HK45. I like the sight picture much better than the standard sight picture that and I think the stock sights on the HK45 aren't that great.

However I don't have any on Glocks.

My rear sights are Warren Tactical Sevigny Carry rear, not Heine, and the wide notch is a huge plus for getting on target fast. I use a very narrow red fiber optic front that emphasizes the effect of the wide rear notch. For me there is nothing better. I have had the rear notch on the Ruger Vaqueros I use for cowboy action milled out to .170; same concept, extra daylight visible around the sides of the front sight = faster target acquisition. I use them to shoot fast and hit, not for precision.

I installed my own, but the Glock rear sight tool wouldn't accomodate the wider, taller Warren sights. The MGW tool for tall, flat sided Glock aftermarket sights is about $85 and works well. I have five Glocks so it was worth the investment for me.

I got mine from Lone Wolf. You can see one here:

I have Heinie Straight Eight Ledge on my Glock 17 and 19, and Straight Eight Slant Pro on my Glock 35. Wouldn't have it any other way. Had my local shop do the install.
