Hawk...IIRC they do

I'm going to look for that thread on ARFCOM now concerning the gel seals and should have a definite answer for you shortly

Hawkeye, like 5point said, they fit on all Peltor ears so far.

Is this product more for comfort or does it help seal the sound out better than the stock pads?

Hawkeye
03-19-07, 14:09
As I understand it (someone correct me if I am wrong), they do both. They are more comfortable, especially around eyepro. By the same token, they seal better around the glasses vs. the small gaps the the regular foam can sometimes have.

Thanks Hawkeye, I may need to look into these as well.

I too have gathered the same info as Hawkeye. I've never heard any negatives about these gel seals.

BTW I never did find that thread on ARFCOM that was at least 10 pages long talking about these. Which reminds me that I need to order some!

I have them on my Pletor Tac Sports I got from i Shot and they are money well spent. Mucho comfortable on the head and can barely tell you are wearing them.

I was T&E'ing a new Sordin headset and they included gel earpads ... might want to check with them, I dunno why they wouldn't be releasing those.

No info on Monday, so I email the guy for an update, no response on Tuesday.
I have been on the road travelling Wed and Thur with no access to Home computer emails, so hopefully when I get home tonight, I should have some more info...

That is all fine and good, but the Sordin owners need Sordin sets. I will give I-shot a call.

Multi-G
04-02-07, 08:25
I-Shot says they have no info on sets for Sordins. NOTHING!!!! They know the rumor is out on the errornet, but they do not know of any.

Anyone supposedly having a set needs to furnish some details before the slap crew assembles the list. :p

They offer Peltor. I had a nice conversation on the phone with them concerning the MSA / Sordins. They do not have them nor are they able to get them. They do not know where they could be coming from. They did not say they don't exist, just they don't know of them.

fivepointoh
04-02-07, 09:09
Interesting as they were the guys that were trying to get them for awhile...

Read this thread...some good info in there as to why the Sordins may not be compatible w/ the gel seals.

He responded to me today that he does not have any further updates. So I will just have to patiently wait and hope to get a pair before my May 14th Carbine class, so I can try them out for three days.

Guys, just to add some clarity to all this....

I was first told by one of our contacts in Europe that there is a company that is planning to get gel ear seals done for the Sordins and that was last year. I tried to follow-up on it but the trail died 'cos my contact never heard back from the company.

Everyone's been talking about it since then but there's been no concrete info anywhere. I have one final alternative and that is to produce these ourselves just like the ones for the Peltors. Only problem is the qty that has to be met and is probably in the 4 to 5 figures.

I was going to drop it but since there's interest on most of the forums, I'll look into it. No promises for now.

I tried to get one for ya in multicam, but no dice. :(
Put mine just in. can feel the difference, it's like having your head stuck in between a nice soft set of female breasteses..................very nice. they also come with a pair of replacement hygiene pads as well(not the female type either)

next time i fly out to Praha i'll bring them with me Kisara, or if you're back in the states sometime let me know. we'll hook up for some din-din.

ETA: they are made Sordin .

Well... they finally arrived.
These are kick ass and a must have for anyone with a pair of Sordins.

Got them from TCI for $29.00

They come with replacement foam inner pads.

You can see the difference between the standard foam seals and the gel seals.

They are extremely comfortable and form fit around eyeglass frames quite nicely.

This will be Kick but at class in two weeks.. I'll follow up after I have had them on my head for 3 days in a row...
