Rather than try to explain it, I took 2 screen shots.
I frequent many forums and am very tech savvy, so I'd say it's a problem with the site as it only happens here, and it's random.
(it sometimes looks like this, sometimes its normal)
Today is the first time it's been happening to me.

I've been getting the same thing as well tonight.
Gotsa be a site thing, I'm getting it too.
I've also gotten it a few times today.

Glad I'm not the only one.
Yeah, I was running some proprietary business software, so I thought that was what caused the problem.

I am also getting it.
I get it as well.
I've just been clicking on the upper "FORUMS" tab or M4carbine.net Forums & everything goes back to normal.
I am getting the same error as well. I thought it was because I was at work but I am getting the same thing at home.

Well, at least the admin who should be notified of new threads in this section will know about the issue. (If they didn't already)
Yeah me to. This happens every once in a while. (And I am not on Windows nor Firefox so it is not a Firefox or Windows thing).
I think the issue is that the CSS file, which is a content description file, is getting messed up or lost on transfer to your browser or is randomly not being sent at all so that the code to tell it to look all fancy is lost so it gets rendered as plain html instead of the fancy stuff we are used to.

getting it pretty frequently last night and this morning.
We are aware of the issue. It appears to come and go.
Try clearing out your cookies and hitting refresh on your browser.
I've cleared my cache (Safari 4.0) and it's still happening.

Don't think that will do anything.
If I had to guess (and I run servers for webhosting)...
From comments I have read it sounds like M4C runs on a cluster of machines. Not just a single server. I would guess that the forum software install on one of the machines (or a subset of the machines) is missing one or more CSS files or similar setup files that define the theme. This is why doing a refresh sometimes "fixes" the problem momentarily. It depends on which server is hit that request.
This is similar to the time screwup a few weeks ago where sometimes the posts etc were off and out of order. One of the servers clocks was messed up.

It's starting to happen much more frequently for me now too.
Almost constant now. And I think I am hearing satanic verses.
Started happening to me last night using FF and Safari....
I've been getting this error from time to time as well.
edit: I just got it again while making this post

Same thing happened to me on Safari on my mac last night.
We are working on the problem and are aware of it.
Firefox on my PC at work and Safari on my MAC at home.... both do it.
It is absolutely a problem with the style sheet.
PM me. Maybe I can help.
I have the Forum H1N1 as well... using the latest greatest Safari v.?
Firefox, Chrome and IE are all having problems for me
Thank God. I thought my medication was off.

I have been getting the same problem for the last couple days. Hitting the refresh button usually corrects it.
Getting worse for me as of this morning. There have been times when five or six screens/refreshes in a row were suffering from it.
Figured my wifi was givin me fits....grrrrr

If this guy knows his stuff it might be worth it. I get the "Weird Screen" every other refresh now.

Windows XP Pro and its been happening to me for the past three days, it will take several page refresh to finally get a normal screen, cleared out the history and reloaded fresh video drivers with no improvement. It seems to be getting worst.

The problem was there a couple of days ago but everything appears to be back to normal now.

Still going, Windows XP Pro, Firefox 3.5.5.
I am still getting it as well but not as often as it was a few days ago. When it does occur a quick refresh brings everything back to normal.
Getting worse for me yesterday PM and early this AM.
Frequency likewise has not changed for me on Firefox version 3.0.13 (or a slightly upgraded version thereof).

I was getting the problem about 2/3 of the time I opened M4C. In the last 3 days, however I have had no problem. Running XP and Firefox.
Issue has been resolved. Thanks for your patience folks!
