Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to remind you that there is a carbine shoot on the 20th of December at the Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club (http://www.volusiacountygunandhuntclub.com).

This is a fun shoot with a competitive element. The best way to describe it is IDPA with rifles.

The shoot is really coming together well and it will only get better!

Registration is at 08:00, safety briefing is at 08:45, and shooting starts promptly at 09:00.

Cost is $10 for VCG&HC members, $15 for non-members. You only need an AR-15 style rifle, about 200 rounds of ammo, hearing protection (electronic preferred), three magazines, and a good attitude. We would like you to have a Boonie Packer Chamber Flag (http://www.redi-mag.com/Shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=6&idcategory=6) for every rifle you bring but if you can't get any by the 20th, we have a few extras. Don't sweat it.

If you would like to be notified when shoots are scheduled, join the CFDCC Announcement List (http://groups.google.com/group/cfldcc-announce?hl=en).
If you would like to discuss the CFDCC, join the CFDCC Discussion List (http://groups.google.com/group/cfdcc-discuss?hl=en).

To the people who have joined and helped so far, thank you!

This thread has been pretty quiet but I know some m4carbine guys came out so thank you! Here is a post I made on TOS (http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=10&t=388687&page=4&#4043144):

Thanks, everyone for coming out!

Thank you Seikoguy (Lee) for coming up to help and HUGE thanks to Wade for taking interest and lending his wealth of experience and knowledge. Oh yea –– thank Sean for letting us put it on at the Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club! :) For the local shooters who attended, the only way to keep this kind of event going is to join the Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club (http://www.volusiacountygunandhuntclub.com/) and lend a hand when it comes to set up, ROing, planning, &c.

I'll try hard to get the scores up today. The results may be a little primitive but we hope to have some decent scoring software written by the next match.

We had dinner yesterday and bounced around a few ideas for the next match. I promise, it'll get better.

CM, if an official AAR surfaces can you link to it as I'd like to share it with my guys and see about getting some of use to travel up for the next one..

RE: scoring, we use google spreadsheets with functions programmed in to do the heavy lifting.

Will do. I was planning to use a google spreadsheet for the first score sheet so I'd be interested in seeing what you have.

The cool thing about the google spreadsheets is that they are easy to "share" or "publish as a web page" giving you an easy way to get them out when you're done with a simple link.
