View Full Version : Help finding magazine for old gun
The CFO where I work asked me to help track down a replacement magazine for an old rifle he got from his father. I've googled the crap out of it but to no avail. So... I thought I'd ask you guys since there's pert-neer an answer to everything gun related here.
He's got a Springfield Armory Model 1903 bolt action .22. As I understand it, they were training rifles used to save money by utilizing .22lr.
Any help would be appreciated.
any other rollmarks?
http://www.e-gunparts.com/dept.asp is usually a great resource, but im not finding it. That or rimfire central.
I seem to recall a lot of Steven's .22 bolt actions made with the Springfield name.
Could this be it?

At one time CMP sold 22lr 1903's they might have a magazine some were maybe worth a call.
Don't think that's it. He's going to try and get me some pictures of it, but he's a pretty busy guy. It took him a few weeks just to get me the make and model. I scoured that e-guns site to no avail. I found one on gunbreaker but it was marked Winchester so I don't think that's it. Perhaps there some swapability between the mags but I haven't found anything to indicate that.
The couple articles I did find shows them valued at around $800. He said it was in pretty good shape but lacking the magazine (he called it a clip, I cringed a little) :D
Thanks Thomas... good idear!
Found this Bottom of page (http://www.ssporters.com/parts/Springfield%201903.htm)
Doesn't look like they sell the magazine body though. Getting closer.
Was bored and thought I'd help with the search. I don't know anything about these rifles, so these results may be irrelevant—if so, I apologize.
Maybe a magazine (repro): sarcoinc.com (http://www.sarcoinc.com/springfields.html#3)
Here's a book on Google Books that may help with other info: Google Books (http://books.google.com/books?id=vb3dDN9FiekC&pg=PA290&dq=Springfield+M1922+M2#v=onepage&q=Springfield%20M1922%20M2&f=false)
