I have been thinking, I know hard for an old guy, but I would like to get one of the piston guns, has anyone used an S&W piston rifle? If so what do you think, I have a SW 15 flat top, it shoots better then i can.

Thanks

Thanks for the heads-up. Since the Gen 4 Glock has been a disappointment maybe I'll get an M&P 9mm instead.

When someone finds out post it here. I am always curious on the how many entities treat the RC even though they are only 9% of the DoD budget yet are providing 40% of the force in theater.

Anyone have casualty figures AC vs. RC?

I'd be interested in seeing how those figures pan out.

I took advantage of the offer and ordered a M442 No Lock as a replacement for the one I sold a few years ago.

This is an email that I recieved from David P. Holt, Vice President, Military Programs Smith & Wesson when I ordered.

Starting January 1, 2010 we'll be offering a Nation wide M&P promotion to all active duty and retired service personnel. A $50.00 mail in rebate on any M&P revolver or a $50.00 mail in rebate or 2 free mags on any M&P Pistol or a $100.00 mail in rebate or 5 free mags on any M&P15 tactical rifle. Our website will have all the details soon.

While this deal isn't as big of an enticement as 40% off, these rebates are still a good deal. All you need is a dealer that offers decent prices like Bud's.

Remember, the 40% deal was 40% off MSRP. Many S&W dealers were already selling various skus at or about that same price.

With smart shopping and competitive dealers, the rebate offer is possibly the best deal yet if you're buying an M&P unit of some type. Depends on what any of the fine print might say.

Funny you should say that. I ordered an M&P 45. Most of the dealers I looked at couldn't match the price of 40% off. The funny thing is that most prices for the M&P series were $50 dollars more than the %40 off MSRP price. I guess this is a win - win for the active duty and retired folks. Now we need to see if S&W will show some love to the Reserve and National Guard folks. There service has gone beyond the one weekend a month and two weeks a year quota. They deserve recognition like the rest of us.

Which vendors did you use while researching pricing?

I received an email from S&W today. It looks like they received over 500 orders from the .mil crowd. I hope I don't have to wait too long for my M&P 45.
