View Full Version : New IMI Headstamp
Been a while since we've seen IMI M193. I remember it as TZZ, it's now IMI. Seems to be the same first rate stuff. Don't know why I find this sort of thing interesting. Anyone know the why and when?
There's nothing new about the "IMI" headstamp. They've been using both for many years.

TZZ is an abreviation/acronym for the Hebrew word "tzor", which means Army/Military.
I put 90 rounds of the '09 downrange side-beside some of my '99 IMI M193. It's the same as far as I can tell, although I did not chronograph. POI, if not exactly the same appeared very close.
Through a 1x9 20" Bushy and 4X ACOG, it put 9 of 10 in 2.0" at 100 and 9 of 10 in 3 7/8" at 200. Pretty nominal groups for me and better than expected since my recent trigger time has been nil.
Thanks. That's pretty close to my findings. My 6940 group is just a touch larger (10 shot group 2.4" @ 100). My 10 year old stuff (TZZ) is the same.
