I have a Springfield LW Operator and am looking for a leather holster.

Im not looking for anything fancy. Dont need anything exotic.

What leather holster company makes one for the railed 1911's?...I would like it to have a foward cant and have a thumb button latch that allows the gun to be cocked...but the thumb latch isnt a priority.

I've used a Milt Sparks Summer Special II and a Kramer Belt Scabbard with a railed 1911. I think DeSantis makes an OWB with a thumbreak for railed 1911s. Don Hume also has some offerings for the railed guns. I'm sure there are others.

I use a Milt Sparks VM2 for my Lightweight Operator. Also just got a Raven Concealment for use when the X300 is attached.

Most of the custom makers cater to the Operator, but most of them have a long waiting list as well. If you need something right away than I would also suggest Kramer.

ok. Looking mainly for OWB.

Any others out there?

Thanks for the suggestions.

IWB:
I'm a fan of Tucker Gunleather and have an "Answer" for that model.

I presume they make one for the all leather Secret and Texas Heritage as well.

I've always been able to use a regular leather holster for my railed 1911. Not one specifically made for a railed handgun. I would just leave it in the holster at all times, and after a couple weeks it loosened up just enough around the rail to where I could draw it as easily as I could a weapon without a rail. I would also take the handgun in the holster in the bathroom when I would shower so that the higher humidity would help the leather rework itself to the new shape. Just set it on the sink or something. If it helps all the holsters I use are Galco.

While we're on the topic, I can't seem to find anyone offering a kydex holster for my configuration.

Anyone want to recommend a custom-kydex dude? I need a 1911 holster, that will accomodate my smokewagon and an X300.

Bladetech makes a kydex IWB operator holster for an X200 light. I don't know how much the x300 and x200 varies

I have a STI Tactical 4.15. It was hard to find a leather holster for it, but I finally got HBE Leatherworks to make me one. He does very nice work, and I only had to wait around 3 weeks.

I'm a big believer in Greg Kramer's horsehide holsters.

I have a #3 IWB and a Vertical Scabbard for my Springfield M1911 MC Operator.

I went with a Phantom from Raven Concealment for a Springfield operator with X400. It is surprisingly comfortable as an IWB if you can believe that and wore it in a class OWB and it worked well. It seems like they increased prices a bit recently but I like it a lot.

Raven Concealment Phantom (as mentioned above):

I have 3. One for my G19 with X300, M&P9 with X300, and SA LW Operator with (you guessed it) X300. Simply phenomenal Kydex holster. It's modular as well so your mounting options, both IWB and OWB, are plentiful.

Also a great holster.

Temp: How do you like the CM 10-rounders?

They've been 100% for me so far, though several classes. I expect to have to replace the mag springs at a higher rate than a standard mag though.

I also highly recommend the Raven Concealment guys for people who want kydex.

They're shooters, and they make great kit.
