A friend sent this to me.

CHRISTMAS AT ARLINGTON CEMETERY

I wonder why the press hasn't enlightened the public about it??

Arlington National Cemetery

Readers may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.

Media response: There is a Cemetery in Arlington?

To me this is a sign of a man and his company who just "gets it"

I've seen this at a few different national cemeteries across the east coast...I'm going to have to go visit my grandpa at the Riverside National Cemetery and make sure he got his wreath too!

It's nice to see that even in these difficult financial times, a business owner still continues a tradition of honoring those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

What a very kind, and thoughtful gesture by Mr. Worcester.

Good to see our friends in Italy remember what is important, even as many here forget. Though this forum did have a link to donate to the cause, the majority of the populace is too busy with their ipod or cell phone to really care.

Thank-you and Merry Christmas pal.

Yesterday on Fox News Sunday w/Chris Wallace they did a nice story on the donor and named him their Person of the Week. I believe they did the same award about this time last year as well.

I was traveling back from Portland yesterday and listened to the story on the radio. Even without seeing the volunteers laying the wreaths or the footage of Arlington it was STILL a very moving story.
