If you're asking me, I say the Serbu is a novelty item. I am a fan of 14" barrel on a defensive shotgun.

Absolutely. But they're also ridiculously fun! A buddy of mine owns one and we've shot the ever-loving crap out of it. He'd be the first to admit, though, that if SBS were allowed in our state, he would have bought one of those instead.

As stated above - They're fun to shoot, but really mostly a novelty. If you're going to spend that kind of money and only have one shotgun, I'd just get a real 870 that does more than make your friends giggle.

Then again, that Serbu *was* fun to shoot....

From what Ive heard...you cannot get a Serbu 870 build. Only Mossy now.

Remington isnt making a pistol grip shotgun anymore.

You can still get 870-based Super Shorties, it's just that they have to be registered as SBS rather than AOW. Unfortunately that ups the cost of your tax stamp from $5.00 to $200, and makes it a no-no in states like mine with stupid laws prohibiting SBS (we can have machine guns and SBRs, though; go figure).
