Gunny's doing some research prior to purchasing an 11.5" A3 upper for my current Oly AR that I use as a UPR/entry weapon. The prices for J&T Distributing, Model 1 Sales & M&A Parts complete uppers are rather appealing for the budget my half unit has allowed me. I know J&T uses Shaw barrels & gov't contract upper receivers...& M&A uses LMT barrels. Who is the maker of Model 1's upper receivers & barrels? Do any of you blood-thirsties own or have experience with any or all of the above 3 dealer's products? I will be swapping my current bolt assembly & CH with the new 11.5" upper & buying a Tactical Innovatoins TAC16 can later this year. Until then, I'll have a Noveske KX3 Flash Suppressor. Should I go chrome line bore, chamber & bolt for an entry weapon when I only put about 500-1000rounds down range a year with my PD? We use Federal .223 TRU 55 grain rounds. Please gimme some intel so I can determine if I want to do business with these guys or just throw out some more bones for a DMPS or BM upper. I 'preciate it killers..yutyut!:D

I wouldn't use any of the vendors you've listed.

I would go with one of these:
LMT (although it's a 10.5" (http://www.lewismachine.net/product.php?p=68&cid=6&session=8e6494dfdc918f121a16d42d51035dae)

CMMG (pick your barrel profile & length) (http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/shop/?shop=1&cart=624022&cat=43&)

Or contact Grant at gandrtactical.com and ask him to build you something with actual good quality parts.

SBR's are really picky weapons, so I wouldn't go cheap. Stick with LMT 10.5's and use their BCG as well.

I'm assuming you mean "wouldn't go cheap"?

Yeah, that's what I meant, but type too fast for my own good. :D
