Santa delivered this year. My youngest daughter (12 y/o) is now the proud recipient of a Marlin 60. Her 17 year old sister is jealous and it looks like I will have to get her a rifle too.

Sweet! Those little marlins are sweet! My friend has a older one and its the quietest 22 ive ever heard. No need for ear pro even standing 3 feet parallel w the muzzle.

Hehehe! Those are some great pictures. I think you do need to pick up another rifle, as you say. :D

If my daughter ever learns that the words "good" and "grades" belong together, she's got an LMT carbine coming.

I hope your young one has fun with her Marlin. The ones I have shot are really accurate, and a great buy for the money.

And thank you both again for your service to our country.

I grew up with a Marlin 60. Many fond memories of shooting hedge apples in my grandfather's timber with it and his old Savage rifle.

Great gift Santa!

I'll play. Here is my 10 yr old with her 10/22 she got for Christmas. We will be cutting down a stock for her and she said she wants it to be Blue with Black highlights.

What a Great Dad! Good choice, my first rifle was a Marlin 60 .22 rifle as well. I still have it and it is every bit as accurate as it was when I got it over 20 years ago.

Merry Christmas,
and yes thank you for your service.:D

Nice, My dad and I gave my eldest niece my old savage/Springfield model 15 .22lr bolt gun. My younger niece got a red ryder bb gun. I'm stationed up in alaska so they called me this morning to thank me.

Hopefully when I go home on leave I'll get to take them to the range.

Seems like quite a few Dads start teaching their kids about firearms at age seven. I waited a little longer due to circumstances beyond my control (.mil assignments). I say go for it, seven is fine.

Some pretty proud looking kids there... Started my daughter around 7 or so with a cut-down bolt action single shot with peep sights. Got her a Glock 19 at age 13, and sent her and the Glock off to Gunsite at age 20. Now she has her own gun safe...
