* .45 and maybe 10mm variants of the Glock 34/35 platform. *Think about it. *The Glock 34/35s are a turn key, ready to compete $600(ish) gun. *Reliable, good trigger, great sight radius, easy to work on, and world champions use them. *Heck, throw in a .357SIG variant too. *Hi capacity, competition ready without having to dump tons of money into an STI/SVI. *These are service pistol reliable weapons that just happen to be competition guns. *Not finicky and not expensive.
*Thoughts?

You can make a 35 into a .357SIG just by replacing the barrel with a KKM .357SIG barrel.
Have discussed it a few times and think it would be a great if Glock came out with a factory version of a .45ACP longslide ala G34/35.
There are aftermarket options but a factory pistol would be very nice!

A .45 variant of the G34 just might get me to venture back out of the "9mm only" mindset.
Glock's desires and marketing to the contrary, the G34/G35 are primarily competition guns that also happen to be popular with some hobbyists and the occasional "tactical" type.
There's basically nowhere that a 10mm version would be useful, especially since you can get a 6" barrel directly from Glock if you just want the added velocity for hunting, etc.
The .45 version would be a lower-capacity option for making Major in USPSA, which wouldn't have much desirability.
Glock has probably deduced -- correctly, by my guess -- that a long-slide version of the G20/G21 would do nothing but cannibalize standard G20/G21 sales.

Personal gee-whiz new gun desires aside, I think Todd's right about that.

10 round G36 with a totally redesigned magazine.
Call it the Country and Western LE model.

I'm still holding out for a single stack 9mm/.40 platform.

I think Glock has pretty much exhausted the realistic possibilities. An 8 shot slimline 45 or 10mm Glock would be nifty, but probably wouldn't sell too well. A slimline 9mm/40 would probably please no one since it would be hugely chunky unless the redesigned the whole gun which is unlikely.
happen to be popular with the occasional "tactical" type.
Hey now... I guess im a rare breed... ;)

BMe too. I am not over thinking this one as far as economics etc are concerned in relation to Glocks business, I am just saying what I would like to have. :)
