was looking at different handguards/rails. i was just about sold on a larue after handling it on a weapon at a local shop, when i saw an ad for the midwest ss. i really like that there is a rail on top and nothing around the rest of the rail. it says on the midwest website that it is a "modular design" and comes with 2 extra sections of rail... one for a vertical grip and one for a light, i'd assume. at any rate, my biggest concern is... how do these "2 extra sections of rail" attach? anyone have experience with this particular handguard? i have read mostly positive reviews of midwest's handguards with the exception of their weight. the mi ss weighs in at only 12.3 oz with those two little extra sections of rail attached... so it's on par with larue and dd. suggestions?

and how about heat dispersion? with it being all thin metal, i'd be inclined to think it'd heat up pretty good.
