Here is my Spike's Lightweight SL-15 and she weighs in at 6.9 lbs w/accessories.

For $50.00 I can add Titanium Screws and drop another 3 oz. (4x Micro mount screws, 2x DD Riser screws, 2x MBUS screws & nuts, 6x DD Rail Screws, 2x DD Gas Block Screws, 1x MI Sling Hook screw, 2x KNS Trigger Pin Screws, 1x Ambi Selector screw, 1x BAD lever screw, 1x Grip screw)

How do you like that red dot scope? Is it comparable to the Aimpoint?

Never used an Aimpoint but so far it's held zero after 500 rounds. IMHO.......its a great piece at a great price.

Very nice looking rifle you have there sir. Of course I find it really scary since spiders and I have a mutual understanding to steer clear of one another (translated they scare the shit out of me and are quite possibly the most terrifying creatures on the planet):p

I think your pictures just answered a question I have and you just saved me from starting a new thread. No interference between the BAD lever and the KNS pins???


ETA: Also if weight--or lack thereof--is the ultimate goal, did you consider MOE handguards? You'd lose a little room but maybe the weight is worth it. Perhaps even more enticing option when the mid and rifle length MOEs are available.

Very nice, I especially like the impromtu bicycle innertube grip enhancements, good thinking. I need to make a lightweight build for my wife, yours is a good model to draw ideas from.

The BAD lever is close to the pins but there is no contact. I wanted the flip up option on the BUIS. I did not like seeing the front iron sight while using the red dot so that was part of my reason on the DD rail. I know there are several other lighter options I could have chosen.

Got a Streamlight TLR-3 that should be here today. Looks to drop about 3oz. over the Surefire setup and put her below 7lbs. I also got my modded Vickers sling back from the sewing shop. Had it sewn like the MAGPUL sling for single and 2 point attachments.

I'll post pics later today.
