Semi vs Auto Bolt Carrier Group

What are the advantages of using an auto bolt carrier group in a semiautomatic AR15? Better cycling? Auto bolt carrier is heavier, harder?

I'm not interested in the legal issues as this part is not gonna turn a semiauto AR into a machinegun.
