View Full Version : Slight issue with ACE SOCOM stock

I installed an ACE SOCOM stock on one of my AR's a while back. While shooting the other day I noticed a very slight wobble in the stock at the point where the buffer tube threads into the receiver.

If I loosten the collar the secures the stock, and screw stock in another 1/4 turn, then it's tight and no wobble.

But then the stock is crooked ...

Am I missing something obvious here? I HATE things that wobble with a passion ( a reason to love the CTR stock on my other AR) but I do like the SOCOM stock, too. But I'd like to secure the buffer tube.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I had one of these and I had no issues.

What you can do to alleviate wobble is to get some plumbers tape and apply it to the threads of the stock. This should take the wobble out. Apply as much as needed then re-tighten.
