View Full Version : Changing Flash Suppressor
When changing my flash suppressor I used a crush washer and when indexing the suppressor the washer cracked. The suppressor is tight enough not to turn but should I have used a peel washer instead? I had a A2 style on it first and changed out for a Phantom style as I like the look of it better.
If I am not mistaken Phantom flash hiders are supposed to use flat or peel washers, not crush washers. I believe that they also have a recommended torque value. It's been a few years since I installed one.

According to their site (http://www.yhm.net/store/muzzle.html) they use a crush washer.
"Use these crush washers to install our flash hiders, muzzle brakes, or any other device that needs to be oriented to the barrel."

According to the OP he installed a Phantom flash hider. Under the description for the Phantom flash hider it says washer included. All the others say crush washer. So there was a misprint or it does in fact use a standard non crush type. I believe that I had the same issue with the ones that I installed on my M16A2/4 hybrid.

All three Phantom 28As I've purchased in the last three months came with crush washers in the package.
