So I was thinking, as I responded elsewhere, that I need to practice my "prones" some.

Realized I knew most of the positions, but had forgotten the nomenclature.

Does anyone have all the weird prone positions in pictures?

Excellent topic. IIRC there is a thread on 10-8 with some interesting positions as well.

Here's the thread I was thinking of:

I see that in the posted pics of the supine shooting the shooters have their feet planted and knees up. Is the way most guys do it or do most prefer to have their legs completely flat?

Personaly, I prefer to have my feet planted which enables me to lift my hips off the ground and have some mobility. While I see the benefit of the striaght legs (less chance of a round hitting you) I prefer to be able to move when I need to.

I have always been taught, and prefer, knees up.

IIRC...

supine is on your back, firing across your chest to your support side, ejection port up.
urban is on your stomach/side, firing to your support side, strong elbow tucked under, ejection port down.
sbu is on your stomach/side, firing to your support side, strong elbow out, ejection port up.

As with many other topics, Jim Crews' manuals are an excellent source of information about various prone and supine positions. He may still have some of his CD available, which at $22 is a steal. They're the best reference manuals you can get.

I hate to think where the bullets end up in those supine position pictures, those berms are kinda low.

They were in the berm.
