STG-2000-C in cal 7.62 x 39 is a semi-auto copy of the famous German Wieger Rifle. It features a hammer forged barrel, scope mount, US Polymer stock, and various high quality US made parts, such as a US made plastic magazine, and non-slap trigger components. It also features a chrome plated barrel, and an M-16 style muzzle brake.

Its a Century Arms WASR with different furniture.

Except that Century's name appears nowhere on the gun, and the overall quality appears to be better than any WASR I've ever seen.

InterOrdnance is the importer, and presumably the outfit doing the magwell and 922(r) compliance work. The examples I've seen in person looked and felt pretty good.

Too bad the 5.56 version isn't made to take Bulgy mags.

What mags does it use?

Weiger. Thay used to be cheap, now they are high as all the other 5.56 ak mags. The bulgys are more plentiful and are a better mag IMO.

Weiger.

The pics I've seen (I/O's ads, which may not mean much) have shown them with both the ProMag waffle style and an Orlite Galil mag. Has anyone seen a .223 STG in the flesh yet?

I see more and more people talking about these. Due to ammo prices I am thinking about making a shift to the AK platform for more of my rifle training and one of these look like a possible partner for my ultra reliable WASR. It will probably be one of these or a gun from Krebs

Ive been considering one of these. I know its an AK but what kind of accuracy/reliability should it have ie better or worse than a standard AK?

Site is dead (for me at least). Are these the same guys (Weigand was the name I think) that got busted in 2004?

My dist Souther Ohio Guns explained it to me that they were converted WASR's other than that all I know is what I read in SGN.

I was going to pick one up but some of the parts arent AK parts and will be pretty tought to find if they are restricted.

They just have a new web address.

One of my co-workers has a 7.62x39mm STG-2000-C and it seems to do fine for the 600-1000 rounds of plinking he does each year. I think he paid around $400 for his, and it would tough to complain about anything on a $400 AK. I actually like the design of the hand guards because they allow me to reach out much farther on the weapon.

Tried a Saiga? Easy to convert and a much better firearm. They have a long forearm also.

I still have not actually seen one, only a 7.62x39.
