22 LR Auto

I'm looking for a 22 LR autoloader for a survival gun. I've heard that many of them are quite finicky about what kind of ammunition you use. I've looked at SIG Mosuitos, Rugers, Walthers, S&Ws, Brownings and others. What is your experience? I'm looking for reliability.

They're also extremely shootable and accurate.

Im happy with my 22/45 MKIII after getting rid of the mag disconnect. Buckmarks are very nice too. I've shot the rest and those are the only two I would personally consider buying.

A .22lr handgun in a survival kit of my packing would ideally be very compact and very accurate. I believe my first choice would not be an autoloader but the 3" or 5" version of the S&W J frame Model 63. It's 8 shots nowadays.

Rugers have a good reputation for sure and if the gun is to be used extensively I guess the bulk may be worth it. Probably not to me however.

once i put an aftermarket extractor in my MKII it's been about as ammo sensitive as a glock :D that thing eats whatever you feed it. great gun... very accurate too.
