One of my 2010 goals is to be able to sharpen my EDC folder and fixed blade knife on stones rather than a setup like my spyderco sharpener.
What do you all carry in your bag that will get your blade back to filleting status?
Gracias,

I use a leather strop and sandpaper, but all of my knives are convex. I try to maintain a really sharp knife with frequent stropping, I find this much easier than actually having to sharpen a knife after letting it get dull. You can use a strop on a knife with flat bevels as well, but it will slowly start to become convex. I use this

I use Jap waterstones to hone an edge then finish off with a strop.

In the ulu I use a small stone and the back of the 2" wide belt that holds my pants up. If you use a strop or back of belt everytime you finish using the knife it will keep a good edge for a while without a stone ........ but you have to lay the foundation with good sharpening to start with.

Thanks guys for the tips and sites. I picked up the sharpening kit in the otter box and a Rat RC4 since my only fixed blade is pretty cheap. That should get me started.
