OKLAHOMA CITY --
An officer is injured and a man is dead after a chase ends in a shooting.

Police said the incident started Saturday afternoon when an officer tried to pull a driver over.

Officers said the driver sped off, forcing police to pursue him.

Another officer attempted to deploy stop sticks to end the chase, but was shot by the escaping driver, police said. The shooting happened near Northeast 23rd Street and North Martin Luther King Avenue.

Police said officers opened fire after pulling the man over later on, striking and killing him.

The identities of the driver and the police officer have not been released. The injured officer's condition has not been released, either.

According to the video in the link, it looks like the officer was alert when they took him to the hospital.

I hope he has a speedy recovery.

I'm glad no other officers were injured during the chase and shooting.
