I am looking for the above, to clip on or put on quickly when going to a call.

We have looked at a vest like Eagle or Blackhawk put out, be the upstairs guy don't like them.

I was thinking of more a leg pouch.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
G

I'm no LE guy, but it seems to me the fastest thing to grab and don would be an over the shoulder bandoleer type affair.

I love the idea behind this, but I think the execution could be a little better.

I've been thinking about something in this vein for a few months now, an evolution of the M16 bandoleer from backin. Something with an adjustable strap, good solid sewing on the corners to prevent failure in case of snag, built in pistol mag pouches (just a couple), and a spot for a pressure bandage/gunshot wound kit. Open top rifle mag pouches for speed, maybe with some adjustable elastic cord retention. I haven't got the idea worked out in my head just yet, but the Eagle bit of kit is as close to what I'm thinking as I can find.

Check with Helmie dude. He had a cool thing that hooked quickly to a duty belt and around your weak side leg a few months back. It held 2 thirty round AR mags IIRC.

I have a pouch that SO Tech did for me. I simply wear the female fastex buckle on my inner belt and clip it on when I need it.

I use a modified High Speed Gear Combo V2 pouch.

This pouch will hold up to six mags (I carry three), with room for a spare light, flex cuffs, BOK, pocket smoke, or anything else you think you might need.
I made a replacement hanger out of 2" nylon with a 2" snap clip on one end. This hooks to a grenade ring that is permanently mounted on the belt with a 1/2" nylon loop.
The grenade ring sits unobtrusively in front of my radio holder until needed, then the pouch is clipped on and the leg buckles are fastened.
Takes about 5 seconds to don.

Personaly, I hate strapping stuff to my leg so I'd go with the Eagle Patrol Bandolier. I ran one of these through a Tac Rifle class with zero issues.

Here's a consideration, if you're assigned to patrol, you will have a mag in the rifle, a 2nd mag-20rd can be placed in the blade-tech mag pouch and clipped onto your duty belt. I had a mag pouch on my leg and after awhile, it just got in the way. Some of our patrol rifle guys wear the tactical leg pouch, but after 10-12 hrs. shift, well you can guess where the mag pouch will be hanging

good luck.

I personally use the plain Eagle 4 mag chest pouch. I keep it over the front of the passenger side headrest in the unit. The Eagle 3 mag LE FB style chest rig is probably my favorite of the bunch with the Eagle patrol bandoleer in third.

My agency issues the S/O Tech leg pouch with all the systems, but I am less than thrilled with S/O Tech on some customer service issues, and I hate leg pouches, so I have never used them.

The AR mag pouch made by the Wilderness can be worn on your belt all the time and is there if you need to stuff a magazine into it.
