I am thinking about purchasing a 16" middy stripped barrel that was once a PWS piston conversion.

Can this barrel be used as a DI barrel with a standard lo-pro gas block?

What mods are done to the barrel for this conversion? I just don't want to get find myself with a barrel I cannot use....

it depends on who did the conversion and when. it may have taper pins or set screws. in the case of set screws, the bottom of the barrel is usually dimpled/drilled for the set screws (2). these may or may not be compatible with the gas block you intend on installing.
if i were you, i'd ask the seller to provide some pics and who did the conversion. i'd also ask whether the gas port was opened up.
